This project, partially government-funded, aimed to upgrade and improve the existing facilities at Tennis SA on Memorial Drive. Built by Kennett Builders, the project was completed in two stages to accommodate the Adelaide Oval tennis tournament in 2021.

The first stage included two new grandstands around the existing center court and a new curved roof over one of the main courts. This phase had a very tight schedule, as the works needed to be completed for the tournament. With Cox and WGA as the design consultants and Trident detailing the work on behalf of Stevens Group, multiple design meetings ensured the roof modules could be delivered to the project area, located behind the Adelaide Oval.

The project involved 21 3D roof modules fabricated from CHS323 and CHS219, supported by four corner columns comprising 3 x CHS323. Fabrication was completed in-house at Stevens Group over a 10-week period, followed by the application of an Akzo Nobel paint system.

Onsite erection was completed by Elevate Construction, who worked alongside Stevens Group. With assistance from RBG for the temporary engineering, the erection was completed on time in late October 2021. This was the largest and most complex project Stevens Group had undertaken, and we were pleased with the completed works, meeting all set deadlines.

A special thanks to Kennett Builders for their confidence in Stevens Group by awarding them this project, marking a great achievement in completing an iconic structure in the heart of Adelaide's CBD.

Such a strong focus on communication, after-sales service and availability.
